Women of color earn just 66 percent of what their white male counterparts make. This is a staggering statistic, and one that should be remedied immediately. In order to combat the problem, black women are taking it upon themselves to create a powerful movement.
We can now use #hervoiceinspires as a vehicle to get our message out.
Statistically speaking, the ONLY way we will be able to see the wage gap closed by 2059 is if we see a 5% yearly increase in the number of black women gainfully employed.

From the age of 14, black women are less likely to be employed than white men, and those who do work are paid less than similarly educated white men, according to the US Census Bureau.
It is time to put an end to this madness and not let another young girl who was once you and me be counted in a statistic. It is our birthright to leave a legacy, and it begins with YOU!
